- Reporting period: 1 July 2024 – 30 June 2025
- Submission window: 1 July – 31 August 2025 (no extensions unless otherwise instructed by your Supervisor)
- Required by: All reporting entities under the AML/CFT Act
- Supervisors: Department of Internal Affairs (DIA), Financial Market Authority (FMA), or Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) depending on your sector
Key Information You’ll Need
To complete your AML/CFT annual report, you’ll need to provide detailed information about your business and compliance activities for the reporting period:
- Business information
Include your legal name, company or registration number, physical and postal addresses, the designated Compliance Officer, and details about your business structure and locations of operation. - Risk Assessment and Compliance Programme (RA/CP)
Confirm whether your RA/CP is current. If there have been any updates, modifications, or audit results during the year, these should be clearly disclosed. - Services, customers, and delivery methods
Provide an overview of the products or services your business offers, the types of clients you deal with (such as individuals, companies, or trusts), and how your services are delivered (e.g., face-to-face, online, or through intermediaries). - Supervisor-specific questions
Complete the questions specific to your reporting Supervisor. These sections are tailored to your sector and regulatory body. Depending on your Supervisor, there may be additional requirements you need to complete, so be sure to review all instructions thoroughly. - Exemptions (if applicable)
If your business has been granted a Ministerial exemption, ensure this is declared in the designated section of the report.
